Teak has the scientific name Tectona Grandis and the tree grew originally in the southern part of India, Burma, Thailand, Indonesia and the East Indies Islands. It is a large tree with leaves that fall in the hot season or summer. Just like in the picture above which show about Teak forest in summer. Those fall the leaves and looks not green. The forest above is located in Saradan, Madiun, East Java.

Teakwood has a naturally high oil content which makes it both stable and resistant to rotting when exposed, over many years, to the extremes of both summer and winter weather. For several centuries these special qualities have made teakwood the preferred choice for marine decking and construction, and is the reason that it is today, the premium timber for outdoor furniture. These plantations, created by the Dutch nearly two hundred years ago, are now owned and managed by the Indonesian Government.
